i know there's some medium that you can mix it with so it will be like screen printing, but if I just use acrylic paint, will it come off?

Yes it would wash out in just a few machine washings. You need to use a shellac based type of paint to make it more permanent.
Oil based paints will bleed out into the fibers of the fabric long before it cures and leaves shadowy looking imprints.

As # 1 states...and I'll paraphrase. YOU CAN,,, but will likely be disappointed.

Certainly there are other formulations you can use in your creative notion, even screen print ink, although you may be restricted by budget. Evene Screen Print ink gets battered and degraded by wear and laundering.

If you decide to go ahead, handwash and let air dry or at least turn the shirt inside-out before washing and drying. This will help your art last a little longer. good luck
