That is my burning question for the day. Crybaby was one of my favorite movies and now he sings in Sweeney Todd... but is it him singing or some souped up edited version of him?

It's him singing yes, but, at the same time, it's a hollywood movie, it's going to be polished for any errors and edited.

In Sweeney Todd his singing was decent. I really liked how he really captured the character's anguish, which you can't get with a Broadway singer, a lot of the time. However, he overdid the British accent in his singing, and it flubbed one or two of his notes. Yes I get that you're supposed to have long British vowels when you sing, but he overdid it considering that he's from Kentucky. The accent overtook his tone, and when you sing it should sound relaxed and natural;it didn't for Johnny.

He can really sing, however in crybaby, in some of the scenes, it wasnt him singing. He was in a band before he was an actor, and said he classed himself as a musician, before an actor for a while.
