A Doctor was addressing a large audience:
"The material we put into our stomachs is enough to have killed most of us sitting here, years ago. Red meat is awful. Soft drinks corrode your stomach lining. Chinese food is loaded with MSG. High fat diets can be disastrous, and none of us realizes the long- term harm caused by the germs in our drinking water. But there is one thing that is the most dangerous of all and we all have, or will, eat it. Can anyone here tell me what food it is that causes the most grief and suffering for years after eating it?" After several seconds of quiet, a 75-year-old man in the front row raised his hand, and softly said, "Wedding Cake."

I imagine there was some truth in what the docotr was saying, but the 75 year old hit the nail on the head with his answer of wedding cake causing the most grief and suffering. It did for me!

Well, comparing to a century ago it's all true with the exception of the drinking water part. our water (in toto) is far superior now to any time in the past.

the red meat part is yes. before there were no chemicals in meat. MSG is not, in any way, harmful to us. it is simply a flavor enhancer. soft drinks do have acid in then, but very small quantities. if a person drank the quantity of soft drinks then that they do now it would make them sick (probably). the reason for all the chemicals in products today is because there is a much longer time between harvesting and eating than in years gone by. then there was no need for preservatives as food was consumed immediately after harvesting/slaughtering.
even though what he was saying was, technically, correct it was an alarmist attitude.

I don't know if you are asking a question or not. But, the doctor never told us which food causes the most grief and suffering. The older woman said, "wedding cake" but was this what the doctor was referring to? I cannot agree or disagree with the doctor without knowing what he was referring to.

I love what they guy said.

I'd say the doctor was scaremongering, but I do agree with eating healthily as much as possible.

Better still, everything in moderation
