Look at the rankings at US News or BusinessWeek to get a list of good MBA programs in the US.

None of them are cheap for international students, since you will not qualify for in-state rates at public universities. The better ones are in the $30K range per year for tuition.

The thing to keep in mind is that graduates from top 15 schools will get several offers over $100K per year. Schools that are ranked -- but not in the top 15, will allow graduates to get a nice in crease in salary that will make up for the high tuition costs. Students going full time to an unranked school are unlikely to get jobs that are much better than someone with a BS in business could get. My point is that low tuition costs leads to low paying jobs.

In my opinion, the best MBA programs in the US are:

1. University of Chicago
2. University of Pennsylvania (Wharton)
3. Stanford University
4. MIT (Sloan)
5. Northwestern University (Kellogg)
6. Duke University (Fuqua)
7. Dartmouth University (Tuck)
8. Columbia University
9. University of California at Berkeley (Haas)
10. University of Michigan (Ross)

Other schools that have excellent reputations include: UCLA (Anderson), Harvard (which I don't think belongs in the top ten -- but many do), NYU, University of Virginia, Carnegie-Mellon and Cornell.

Ranto's answer is very good.

But the best MBA for someone might not be the best MBA for another person. You have to consider why you are getting your MBA and what are you going to do with it? Are you from Texas, and plan on staying in Texas working for a Texan company? In that case UT-Austin (McCombs) might be the better MBA because of its strong alumni network in texas.

The whole texas thing was just an example.

Wharton is generally accepted as the #1 business school in the US and maybe the World. But depending you a different school might suit you better.

I personally like Tuck best.

Hi Miera!

Wharton offers the best MBA in the nation!

The best universities have the highest tuition! However, you will get the benefit of the best professors, and tuition pays a portion of their salary. An MBA from Wharton is as good as gold in the business world. It will open doors for you.

Here's their website:

If you want the lowest fees, then your best bet is to go to a local university where tuition will be less due to it being in-state, and graduate locally. If possible, apply for a graduate assistantship as it will help defer some of your tuition, and give you good experience while in college.

Best wishes.
