At long last, I have started considering that iPod may be the way to go. But I don't want to buy an iPod just because everyone else has one, but then I think, a JILLION people can't be wrong, huh? Where does iPod fall short? What do other brands do better? Do the other brands have as many downloads, accessories? Durability?

I want huge storage, and the LEAST TRENDY in terms of bells and whistles, most likely to withstand all the changes in ipod technology and still be a great machine because it is a basic no frills piece that was made to last a while. Last thing I want is to buy any machine and wait a month, only to see the newest and bestest badass player, and to find out that mine is on its way to obsolescence before I will ever wear it out. I don't buy toys like this every dang day.

IPod haters and lovers alike please speak up so I can make an informed decision. I'd like to know what you are using and why. Models, sizes, accessories...all rants and raves welcome.

I'll stick to creative.
I can't stand the circle thing to find your songs, it moves too fast.
I also don't like that you can't delete songs directly from the iPod, you have to do it from the computer. Also, I don't like that you can't add music or copy music from it without iTunes, so you can't just decide to add some music from another's computer (unless it has iTunes).
Not to mention, EVERYONE has one, so, of course, I will never get one.

I've been happiest with a 3rd generation Nano. The flash memory is fast, quiet and sturdy. The hard drive based mp3 players I have had in the past always eventually died, but my earlier Nano is still as good as new, except the battery life is getting short. That's why I went to the new one with a color screen. Of course, if 8 gig is too small for you, you will have to settle for a more delicate hard drive model. Do you really need more than that on your ipod at any one time? I have 1000 songs, some pictures and a dozen 1 hr podcasts and still have room.

I think ipod has its pros and cons, just like any other music player. But I would recommend it. It's a really good company (Mac/APple)... and their products are the best in the market today. It's very simple. But it's more expensive than others. iT's very trendy. Ipods come with the MOST VARIETY of accessories. If you're thinking of buying mp3s and mp4s it will be hard to find a case and such. But ipod is a big company . The only thing is that their accessories are so expensive.. they're just tryna make money. Some music players actually COME with a case!

I have an I POD Nano, 2nd Generation. I have the red one, benefitting for the AIDS. It has 8 gb of memory.

So far I have 927 songs, and I can hold 2,000 soungs, and I forget the amount of pictures.

I got mine for Christmas last year, and I genrally like it. It takes a while to get used to the 'set up" of the I pod, and finding the songs. But you can create playlists, putting certain songs in each.

I tunes was a bit confusing at first, but i figured it out. You dont need to purchase songs off their either, you can download them through Limewire, or another downloading agent and get them on.

One thing I do notice (I play it through a hook up in my car)... is when I am flipping fast through it... it will basically stop (white screen with apple on it)... and then in about 30 seconds it will restart. You can ALWAYS restore the IPOD if it does something weird.

I have no problem with the I POD, and could care less what other people have. I only play mine in my car (I drive a lot), and it never has any problems.

I recently got a Samsung MP3 player. My dad had asked me if I wanted an iPod, but I said no. My reason was because MP3's can do the same as an iPod, for cheaper. My MP3 can hold videos, music, pictures and has an FM radio and voice recorder or you can record off the radio. Now, you don't see iPod's with FM radio or a recorder, but yet, they cost like $130 or more. My mp3 only cost about $97. So, I don't care much for an iPod, if an mp3 can hold as much as an iPod and has more features for a cheaper price. I wouldn't waste money on an iPod.

LOL Jim can under no circumstances die... He rode the dragon outta hea!!!!!! playstation : If it makes you sense extra desirable, he supposedly died in france, and no-one ever observed his physique. purely a closed casket, and a loss of existence certificates. I continually concept he went and lived with a tribe someplace. He loathed being admired. I examine his biography, no longer even his spouse observed the physique. So...you under no circumstances understand!!
