Problems are earning and living on their economy. If you had US income and lived there it might work.

Our country has always taken dips and curves. We had a mild recession in 2001 and most Americans didn't even notice. Yes, prices are up on almost everything because the price of oil is up. Most of our foods and goods are shipped by truck, and they figure in the gas . We can do what Americans always do, look for ways we can make a difference as individuals. For me, that means making sure my car is in working order and consolidating trips. Also, day old bread is fine with me.
I'm not going anywhere. I absolutely love my country.

Somewhere in the EU...they are going gangbusters right now with a bigger share of the world economy than the US and way more bennies for citizens and way less poverty.
Only problem is working there...haven't figured THAT out yet.
Francis---America gives among lowest per capita of the western nations. Near the bottom of the pile. You forget to subtract military aid, which isn't really "charity". It's not "hate". It's just a true fact that you don't like.
America is far from the "most generous" nation on earth. Far from it.
Rule One: Don't believe your own BS.

I like some of it.
If you look you could find many of the world's best living here.
They come here for more than jobs.
Great vacations.
Low prices.
Universities.
Medical centers.
Freedom.
Sanctuary.
If I had to leave, I would go to Canada.
For the same reasons.

hmm... honestly i like living in this country. the economy in some of the poorer countries, like portugal, isnt too good because of the euro now, but i still want to move there for a while when im older, because of family and the lifestyle. im a pretty simple person tho. and i am young so i dont have much of a life yet, haha, but in my context, young adult and single, id like to move there, regardless if its glitzy and glamourous and perfect.

The Netherlands - the Dutch are much more progressive than us, and their system seems far superior in many aspects, including quality of life. I'm sick of this place, especially the rednecks and religious wackos - my fellow Americans are an embarrassment, supporting a war for no reason, torture, corrupt government, and all this fundamentalist b.s. - what a mess Bush has made! Then they'll expect the Democratic President to clean it up...

England or Canada...mostly to London it's a beautiful place and blah to all the American supporters on here, nobody is saying "America sucks" but I think everyone has the right to want to experience other places. And no, not everyone is happy with everything America is about. I'd move to Canada because it's a peaceful friendly place, they don't deal with politics or war the same way we have to. Do you enjoy dealing with war and debt and death?

Well, I would stay here personally, since it is still possible to make this country into what it was meant to be, not what it is now. The only other alternative is making my own new country in the Arctic or Antarctica.
