Perhaps a psychological approach makes more sense.
There exists a definite psychology to colors. That psychology differs from culture to culture. Fact is, I wouldn't take either unless I knew what they were. You can't judge a pill by its color! Thus said, the color chosen (if one had to) would be determined by the relative importance placed upon them by the individual. A high energy person would likely choose red, where a calm, matter of fact person would choose blue.
Red
The most emotionally intense color, red stimulates a faster heartbeat and breathing. It is also the color of love. Red clothing gets noticed and makes the wearer appear heavier. Since it is an extreme color, red clothing might not help people in negotiations or confrontations. Red cars are popular targets for thieves. In decorating, red is usually used as an accent. Decorators say that red furniture should be perfect since it will attract attention.
Blue
The color of the sky and the ocean, blue is one of the most popular colors. It causes the opposite reaction as red. Peaceful, tranquil blue causes the body to produce calming chemicals, so it is often used in bedrooms. Blue can also be cold and depressing. Fashion consultants recommend wearing blue to job interviews because it symbolizes loyalty. People are more productive in blue rooms. Studies show weightlifters are able to handle heavier weights in blue gyms.

Too stark. I would take the red pill, but only because then I get to deal with reality but can ignore it when I need to, without tuning out for the rest of my life. I'd probably end up like most have in this century, taking a less potent blue bill, whether that pill be drugs (legal or illegal), meditation, shopping, vacation, sports or TV soap operas. Too many are on a blue pill binge. Moderation is a good thing. Peace

You've gotten some very stimulating responses so far, and I doubt that there is little that I can add.
But - and I doubt seriously if either you or anyone else will ever even read this response because it is so far down on the list - I will present you with a paradox, to maybe tantalize your intellect.
So, to answer your question, mine would be neither and both.
NEITHER: because you don't define in anyway what either of them contains: only a fool or idiot would ingest something, not knowing what it contained.
BOTH: but if it were a hypothetical situation, like say in one of the Nazi scientific, psychological experiments where one had no choice, I would take both: hoping that if one were bad and the other good, that each would cancel the other out, and so would neutralize the others effect.

I saw the movie, but I cannot remember which pill kept you into the illusory reality of the matrix, and which got you out of the matrix and into reality.
That said, I would choose reality. The illusory reality is kept by the computers, not because the machines are thinking of my happiness, but because the machines see to their profit. In short, the fun comes at a very high price, and I am sure that no satisfaction would be worth the price paid.

I would take the Blue Pill. Because red means death and it looks like blood and war. And red does not look as friendly as blue

I would whip out my Pill Reference book and find out what those pills were before I took either one.
If the red one was Sudafed, I'd take it. I have persistent sinus problems. If not, I probably wouldn't take any.
I don't understand why no one wanted to know exactly what each one was.

The blue one.
Idon't but I grew up with the fact that red is a bad color: it means stop, it signifies blood, and it's just not a happy color.

I would take them both and look for the rest... Why?
Well, have you have heard the story of the Old bull and the young bull walking together and getting to the top of a hill and seeing before them a heard of cows down in the valley.. The young bull says to the old bull, "Lets run down there and get ourselves a lady".
The old bull looks him square in the eye and says, "Let's walk down and get them all".. Amen!!!
