im looking for the cheapest place to get beer in Amsterdam, any recommendations?

Most bars will have about the same prices. There are cheaper places to drink, but they are meant to be social centers for the neighborhood, not for tourist.
Corner cafe's, (the local version of a pub,) might be cheaper than clubs, but most of those also have a like price for a glass.
Ask your host, hotel owner or hostel staff which bar or cafe is the best choice near where you stay.

If you want to safe money on drinking, either stay home where you know the cheaper places, get your beer at a supermarket, (get the 'warm' beer, not from the fridge,) or go to a country where beer is cheaper. (Not that I do not want you here, but if you want to drink but can not afford the normal price you can get cheaper drinks in other countries.)
