As all matter is a byproduct of star formation and if souls do exist then they came from the stars. However, most of the known Universe is not creating "new" matter but burning old matter so let's hope that souls have another dimension to attain.

No, not unless you believe in mythology. And not unless you enjoy spending 90% of your afterlife fusing hydrogen to produce helium.

Your idea was believed by some in ancient times when it was not known what stars were. Hopefully, civilized culture has advanced since then.

First we have to prove there really is a soul before we can start to figure out where they came from.

Technically, just about anything is possible. The real question is, is this probable? Is there any evidence to support this? Why do I bother giving serious answers to questions that probably weren't serious in the first place? These are the things that keep me up at night.
