I don't live in American but I am a British-American citizen and I always hear of these Senate filibusters with Mitch McConnell etc. and wonder, why do they stick with Bush on everything? Or is it something else?

They block un-American socialist policy. Here in the states we have people protecting us from secular progressives.

unfortunately, we have only two parties able to put candidates in office.........it is all about power and money....if the party A puts a lot of money going to their congressional districts and funds programs that they feel will get them re-elected and party B doesn't agree so they don't vote with them....or since the Dem's have control of the Senate and House so they can pass everything they put in to law and the president VETO'S it....then they have to come up with a 2/3's majority to override the veto and that is where they don't have enough friends to do that.... we would be safer if they were only allowed to sit for 2 weeks a year....

Well, the two parties' viewpoints usually contrast.

That's one of the whole points to a bicameral legislature; the framers wanted to make it harder to pass legislation. It goes both ways...Democrats usually block Republicn legislation, Repubs usually block Democrat legis.

Just how the system works.

Because they can. Unless a party has 60 seats, they can't invoke cloture and shut down filibusters.

because it involves ridiculous welfare schemes and confiscatory taxation thats both inflationary and contrary to the proper function of the us economy. liberals always love a free lunch until the bill comes.
