I like Connor M's answer.
One of my favorite guitarists of alllll time, if not my favorite of all time.
His blues-influenced rock never fails to amaze me, and any project he is involved in, whether it be Guns N' Roses, Slash's Snakepit, Slash's Blues Ball, or Velvet Revolver, his playing is nothing short of incredible.
& Yeah, he is pretty much a badass.
Edit: Awesome Cinnamon. Ditto everythingg you said.

I would agree that he's a great guitarist, but I feel that there are better out there that came before him.
Jimi Hendrix
Eddie Van Halen (blues-influence from Eric Clapton)
Eric Clapton
Jimmy Page
Pete Townshend, etc.

he's one of the top few if not the best guitarist ever, and it would be nice if he could be remembered that way...unfortunately, though, we're also going to remember him for his excessive drinking and that episode at the ama's

IMHO> He's OK, but a little overrated.
Jeff Beck,
Stevie Ray Vaughn
Jimmy Page
Eddie Van Halen
Randy Rhoads
Eric Clapton
Prince
Those guys could all teach him a thing or two.

Hes solos are energetic PLUS catchy!!
He is great live.. And he does all that - UNDER A HAT ! UNDER HIS FREAKY HAIR! WITH A CIGARETTE! AND HALF DRUNK!
You should read his Auto-Biography.. that dude has had such a wild life!!

He is my god.
Everything he touches turns to gold.
He is the epitome of a true rocker and has lived the life of one.
He is versatile and has collaborated with many artists and bands spanning many genres, but always stays true to his roots.
He's just... amazing.
My favourite guitarist of all time.
edit; i'm guessing that i have so many thumbs downs because my god is different to yours... tut tut, how intolerant.
