just to look nice dressy a lil but not like over the top. i like turtle neck top and nice pants

i would only surmise that dressing appropriately or respectfully with a touch of class
most dinners are formal to semi formal the only exception is family gatherings and even then i would dress respectfully and comfortably if visiting anothers home....

Suit, white shirt and tie, and dress shoes for a man. Dressy dress for a woman.

not really. but it's always nice to look nice. so wear something a little fancier than what you'd normally wear.
