My Vaillant Ecomax 824E Boiler has gone on the blink from last week: no hot water or heating!!!!!!!!!

Help!

I want to get it repaired. What is the cheapest way to do this ( I can't do it myself; its too complicated and dangerous)?

Should I sign up to an annual boiler maintenance contract and then claim a few days later that it has gone on the blink, so that I get it repaired within the terms of the contract?
Whats the most affordable such deal in the UK?

I live in UK; my Xmas is going to be the worst ever ;-(

Give me advice please and wish me the best.

The fault code F05 is flashing on the screen

the temperature is minus 1 outside - im so cold .help!

the manual says Fault code F05 means 'interruption of DHW heat exchanger NTC (NTC3)'

'possible causes: 1. loose wire/poor connection to NTC3
2. defective NTC - replace NTC3'

NTC3 is the temperature sensor!

If you're up to it, and can see no lose wires,
take old the NTC3 to a heating supply place and
purchase a replacement and install it.
They can advise you if it needs to be set.
I would not recommend 'bridging` the thing, since
you might get steam out of your taps or worse.
Most domestic heating systems are so dependable
that service contracts are a losing proposition.
You're better off just calling for service when it's needed.
If you don't know what you're about, it's a service
call, or no heat.

most heating aparatus work on temperature sensors if you put a jumper across your sensor while the unit has no power then turn it on and it works you have found your problem if it is your temp sensor it should work when it cools down till it reaches the high temperature that causes it to turn off if you put a jumper on it and it stays on you must monitor the boiler because it is a safety device it is not hard to trouble shoot one if you have the door map or diagram find the picture of your temp switch and follow where it starts and where it ends if you turn the power off wat a minute then power back on sometimes resets the computer in the usa repair company charges about 60 dollars to tell you whats wrong and you can buy the part and replace it yourself hope this helps
