I would say mainly because of the fact the cities are so close to one another and a lot of the Cubs fans in St. Louis, used togo to school/college here or weven lived here. Also with the old rivalry between Mark McGuire and Sammy Sosa during the Home Run Leader chase a few years ago, I guess people adopted their "friendliness" during thiose times and most of the fans did the same. Now as far as the players themselves now-a-days, I don't think that there's too much Love Lost between them, whether they're in the hunt for the division lead or not...THEY CAN'T STAND ONE ANOTHER! I say on the field during the games, it's the time for Team Rivalry, but after the game is done, live and let live...JUST LET ALL GET ALONG, and Have FUN!

Give him a Fukudome jersey and tell him that this guy might finally be what the Cubs need to get them to the 2008 world series, just to get beat by the White Sox.

Get him an authentic jersey...Fukudome might be a good one! Or if you're not up for paying that much, how about a plain ol' Cubs t-shirt or a Cubs t-shirt with his favorite players name on the back? If you go to mlbshop.com and look under "Cubs" you're sure to find plenty of merchandice for any Cubs fan! Good luck & Merry Christmas!

I am sure that since your friend is a Chicago Cubs fan, I bet they would like anything Chicago Cubs stuff that you can find, but maybe even more, if they don't own it already. But do remember what the know-it-all kid told Hero Boy in the Polar Express, "It is the thought that counts". He might like a Chicago Cubs jersey, and if you know who ther favorite player is on the Chicago Cubs, and if you knwo tht they already don't have that players jesery, that will make a nice gift. Or if you can get a Chicago Cubs jersey custom made, with his/her own first or last name on it, I bet they will like that too.

Reportedly Sam Zell is gonna sell the naming rights to Wrigley Field. Could be a bit pricy, but that'd be something any Cubs fan would cherish.
