If you read up on Skiles you will find that he is a good coach, but after time his personality just wears on the players like 100 lb weights...

The players needed a fresh start with a new mental approach to the game. The players themselves are very talented; once the coach was unable to get them to play together as a team, it was time to make a change.

Paxson's job is still on the line especially with the coaching job open. If Paxson fails to make the playoffs with this team, we may see Larry Brown be the GM/coach next year. Wherever Larry Brown goes he likes to have control. If Larry Brown comes to Chicago, it's a good bet Paxson will be on his way out as well.

That is the most curel thing that a genral manger can do to thier head coach/manger at holiday time, no matter what holiday is. But not matter, where you read the story at, I bet you will read the statement that John Paxton made.

“This was a difficult decision to make, but one that was necessary at this time. Scott helped us in many ways during his time with the Bulls; most importantly, he helped this franchise get back to respectability. I am appreciative of his hard work and the imprint that he left on our team.”

Now I don't know how Scott Skiles re-acted when he found out, but I am sure that he wasn't happy. It is normal for the Chicago Bulls to start slow during the season, but it is not normal for them to be this bad at Chrsitmas time, during the last couplke of years, that he has been on the bench. Normally the Chicago Bulls have pulled themselves out of it, after thier long road trip, but some reason they just couldn't do it this year.

HA! I am a pistons fan living is chicago and you know what, i honestly think it is time for them to have a new coach. i mean, they focus so much on beating really good teams (like detroit) and never expect whats coming for them. i think skiles got a little cocky after making it as far as he did last year. o well. GO PISTONS!
