Well my mucus plug with both my kids had pinky coloured blood in. i have heard some owmen say they have a clear mucus plug but that wasnt the case for me. Contractions, if you start labour naturally, feel like strong period like pains and get more painful. I found with my 2nd the pains were more in my lower belly but with my first it was in my back and lower belly (because she had her back to mine i had a back labour-more painful). white sticky stuff (aslong as it is white and doesnt smell) is discharge. in pregnancy it increases and can be thicker.if it increases too much you should see your doc. if its not white or smells you may have an infection like thrush and should see your doc. mucus plug doesnt smell. docs said my 2nd might come early but he still stuck it out till 38 weeks when i was induced! if you are concerned please see your doctor as i can only give you advice from personal experience. All the best!

It will look kinda like the stuff you blow into a tissue...just thicker...might be some bloody show but not always. It is different from disharge...it more like you blew your nose (alot) into your panties. Sorry it sounds gross but there isn't a cool way to dress it up!

My contractions were in my back...not so much my belly but when it got closer then it came more around my belly then.

If you start feeling your stomach get tight and then relax...be suspicious...it could be false labor too but still go in to the doc. They will check your effacement and dialation, probably hook you up to a monitor and be able to tell. I had three kids and I only went into labor naturally on my last one so I was confused even then and almost waited too long!

You may have lost your mucus plug. Not to worry though - many women lose theirs a few times during pregnancy. It will grow back. I have no idea what a contraction feels like, as I'm only a few days shy of 12 weeks with my first, but I'm pretty sure they can be quite intense. At 23 weeks, you could be experiencing Braxton Hicks. If you're unsure, call your OB. Good luck and Happy Holidays!
