I spilled a bowl of nuts I had put on top of the fridge while I was baking, now I don't know how to get them up. I don't have a wand type vacumn cleaner. It's tight back there and I don't have wheels on my fridge either.

Do you have a shop-vac or a leaf blower? Something that blows instead of sucks? Good luck to you.

First I would try the reverse function on my vacuum cleaner if it has one. (clean the bagging area first) Next I would wrap the tip of a long ruler (yard stick) with tape (sticky side out) and sweep through the area with that. Should that not work lift the fridge up a bit an put a rug under the front and pull it out from the wall, do it slowly as to not do much damage with the back feet. Once it is out install plastic slides on the feet so you can move it back in easily.

hey moey,
to help solve your immediate problem, use anne's idea. sticky tape on a ruler or anything that will fit will get some if not all the nuts. next. i would strongly suggest that you get a handyman or strong friend to move the fridge and place it on sliders because you should be able to get to the back of the fridge every few months to clean the coils. you fridge will run better and avoid the problem of burning it out.
good luck

Broom.. get a wad of masking tape and make it into a sticky ball. Put that on the end of the broom securely and pick them up like that if you can't move the fridge

I was going to suggest using the hose attachment on your vacuum cleaner, but you said you don't have one. If you have enough room use a thin broom.

Just pushing it aside should do,don't use your back, use your legs.Or have a repairman come over to have a look at a noise its making and he will move it for you.
