and what is your IQ?

Wow! We have a lot of geniuses here... is that indicative of the intelligence of Yahoo Answers in general? Or just the Mathematics category?

Or could it be skewed by the question? Statistically we should have equal numbers of responses above and below the mean of 100. And if they were to follow the typical normal curve only a few responses should in the genius level (or moron level for that matter) while the majority should be clustered around 100.

Either people are really smart (or at least think they are), or they are just inflating their IQs, or the people that have lower IQs don't want to post that so they aren't represented in the responses.

I doubt you can use this a good correlation of IQ to degree achieved. Sorry...

I never finished getting my degree. I am toying with going back and either finishing it, which would take less than a year and leave me with a degree I don't want, or going back and starting over, and studying something entirely different.

And I do know my IQ. I have had several of the really long tests which are administered by a trained person. It's really nothing but a number to me, but if you must know, it's well above the limit to get me into one of those exclusive high-IQ clubs. I have never even considered joining one, because as I stated earlier, it's just a number. In all honesty my shoe size (8 1/2) is more interesting and important to me than my IQ.

Finishing a PhD in physics. Internet IQ tests place me between 130 and 180. Since I don't trust internet tests or put a high value on IQ measurements, who knows.

EDIT: See, there you go. Of the 20 people who have answered so far, apparently you managed to ask the top 0.1% of the population their IQ. :)

I don't have a degree, but I know a little bit about a lot of things. On the last IQ test I took, I scored 145, which is in the genius or near-genius range. But there's a lot of things I know nothing about, and would like to learn more. My specialty is in the language arts (I'm a writer by trade). I guess that qualifies me for YA.

IQ last tested in 1977 at 131 (in my school record)

Why?

I personally don't believe in IQ tests since theyt categorize people as "Morons". I work for a Non-Profit serving the mentally handicapped.
