Depends on how hard you get hit.
Your skull is there solely to protect the brain, and so is the fluid your brain floats in.
If you get hit pretty hard, or if you get hit a LOT of times (like the aforementioned boxers and soccer players), there can be brain damage, yes.

No, the brain cells you are born with stop multiplying and repairing themselves. And, you have a skull to protect your brain, so if you get hit in the head, it most likely won't hurt your brain cells. And no again, you will not loose your memory if you hit your head alot. I got hit in the head a bunch when I played baseball and I still have my memory :D

How about a baby like 2 years old walking around and hit the head by the chair.. I know it hurts as the kid may say hurt but then start playing again... Will that lose memory?

Yes--and in addition to boxing, as I recall a correlation has been found between loss of brain functions and soccer players who take a lot of headers.

Never mind Rocky.
Look at real-life boxer Muhammed Ali. He has serious Parkinsonism attributed to taking one too many hits.
