Sorry ... once it's made you have to know it to change it ... but really .. once you get it sorted why have a password .... If you remember the exact password try typing it in with a capital as the first letter or with CapsLock on ... Do the Dells come with a recovery disc these days? ... if it did ... just put it in the drive boot off it and start all over ... Good Luck :)

Try going through BIOS security and resetting the password there . If that doesn't work I know of a program that might help you can email me and I will send you the information I have good luck . Or if your administrator account is open go to control panel > then add or change a acct > then change acct . and select the acct . delete the password or change it . Any acct that is not a limited one can do this . And remember Dell will more than likely charge for the help .

If you didn't do anything with your computer yet, maybe just reinstall Windows Vista. Or if that can't be done, talk to the technician at the store you got the computer/software at.
check the caps lock
Maybe it was on when you typed the password
try the password with the caps lock ON and again with it OFF

Vista Sucks! trying getting into the computer with out a password or use the administrator account and leave the password blank. see if that does anything.

The only thing i can think of is call or go to a place like geek squad and they can reset your whole computer or you can ask them to reset your password.

the school we go to messes things up... did you change the password off the server? cuz thats the problem... if you did change it on the school server ur gonna have to go to tech and they'll reset the windows vista thing... vista suxx btw so get the normal xp one... just ask the idiotic school tech ppl..... thats all there is... cuz the schools messed up... toooodles
its nothing hard drive related

try to see if you can get in through safe mode.
Or since you don't have any files reinstall vista.
