With no real disrespect meant, BE light OK? and given that this is a holiday many celebrate, I suspect you might be dillusiuonal.
Number one: Santa stops existing as soon as a child KNOWS it's Mom and Dad.
Number two: Light a fire,and if you smell something foul, such as Burning polyester, then maybe someone just wants to evict you?
Number three: This was an obvious attention garnering Q, and without reading any answers, it obviously worked, but in mythology, if you consider even some abstract definitions of Santa, and how long the tales have existed, then you know Santa cannot die.
You might check for the smell of Roast Venison though?
AND certainly call out the "Fire Brigade". They are likely eating snacks and watching a large screen LCD TV, waiting for those who will call tonight, with similar questions, while someone who doesn't believe in Santa, struggles to escape a fire in their home, with no BRIGADE attentive to their plight.
NEVER put one of those silly Red hats, with the White Trim, on Buddah though.

Vaseline, rub some Vaseline on the sides of the chimney, and light up a fire below as an incentive. It will work!
