What's the procedure? How can I place the pizza tray to stay above the hot coal? How long do I burn the wood for?

a wood burning pizza oven has a separate chamber for baking above the wood box...you would need to construct a steel box to sit on top of the wood stove to bake in...they make camping ovens similar to this ...check campmor at http://www.campmor.com

You can get a dutch oven to put on top of it and do that way..in a dutch oven when camping we bake cakes ,cobblers,biscuits etc in it..it may require putting a few coal on top of the lid..

Dutch Oven Pizza

1 pkg refrigerated pizza dough
1 small container squeeze pizza sauce
2 cups shredded pizza cheese
Pizza toppings as desired
Spread pizza crust in bottom of well seasoned Dutch oven. Squeeze pizza sauce over the top or dough and spread. Cover with cheese and toppings as desired. Cover and cook with 8 coals below and 16 coals on top for about 10 minutes.

This is so hard to tell with such scimpy details, you need an oven to bake, or get the camping kind, and don't put it too close to the fire if you just rig something up. Good luck and merry xmas.....or whatever you may celebrate....or none

i wouldn't try it without the proper tools i guess if you wanted to convert your wood stove there would be a way.start of small like roasting marshmellows.
