Santa Clause, well known also as St. Nicholas, lived over 500 years ago. He grew up in a very poor town and he saw all the little chlidren so sad because of what their government was doing to them. So, one day he decided he needed to cheer these children up. He went around his town, tossing coins into the children's stockings while they were hanging to dry, and while the kids were asleep. He also went through the windows and put small toys near their fireplaces. The gorvenment found out about this and were not pleased. They had all the citizens lock all their windows and doors. But St. Nick did not give up. He tried the chimenys, which worked quite well. He contienued doing this for quite a while, and his whole town remembered him when he died of an old age.

You see, the character of Santa Clause isn't entirely fake. He lived many years ago and his spirit is the thing that gives you that fuzzy feeling when you wake up on Christmas Day. Although there is not a man wearing a red suit with a sleigh and a huge bag of presents, plus eight (or nine) reindeer guiding his sleigh, he lives on through your heart, and he gives your parents the privilege of putting presents under your Christmas Tree. And lets not forget the 2 true meanings of Christmas: One, Christ was born that day, and two, you get to spend more time with your family and friends. So focus on having a very Merry Christmas with everyone you love, and just know that even though Santa isn't copporeal, that doesn't mean he isn't real.

Merry Christmas!

So is there a Santa Claus?
Well, we live in a world where the idea of someone rewarding good behavior in this life, rather than the next (or at the door to the Pearly Gates) sounds darn nice, and particularly for children, is a good reminder of the rewards of thrift, virtue, compassion and honesty. And those are sorely missing attributes in our modern world, if you ask me.
So yes, I think that there is a Santa Claus.
I'll certainly make sure we leave a plate of cookies and glass of milk out on Christmas Eve. How about you?
Santa’s in our hearts and so he will always be real. That’s the truth!

To you and all the other children on here, I want to add my comments that there IS a Santa. I'd explain further how I know, but this is not the place.

One night when my parents were visiting years ago when my sons were young, Santa chose to come right to our front door and he rung the bell. We were sitting by the fire in the living room and my mother said "Santa's coming" and we said, "Yes, we know he's coming tonight" and she replied "NO, I mean right now!" ...

and then the doorbell rang, and there stood Santa to our great surprise. It was really something i NEVER expected.

As you can see, the majority of respondents all say "yes, Santa is real." I'm telling you he's not, he's a fabricated myth to encourage people to spend their money, and buy as many presents as they can afford. We promote Santa Claus because its good for the economy, but we also teach children (when they later realize Santa is not real) that its OK to lie, if it means there's money to be made. This is why we have many business leaders (CEOs) and politicians who lie to the general public, Santa Claus had taught them at a young age that its OK to lie, if there's money to be made from lying.

I'm either lying to you, or all these people who says "Santa is real" are all lying to you. You must now decide who is the liar.

"Santa" is the Spanish word for "Saint" when the subsequent first name is feminine. For example, Santa Maria means Saint Mary. The masculine is "San". For example, San Pedro means Saint Peter.

Yes, female saints are real.

Santa Claus is not a real name, because Claus is a masculine name, not a feminine name. However, San taClaus might be a real name.

One of the historical bases for Santa Claus is Bishop Nicholas from Turkey. He was very rich, generous, and loving toward children. Often he gave joy to children by throwing gifts in through their windows. He did this whether they were naughty or nice. Didn't matter.
