I could have sworn that when I was a kid, all of our presents weren't wrapped and I think that even on the movie A Christmas Story, some of their presents aren't wrapped. Is it that maybe people started wrapping presents around 1970?

well I got presents that weren't wrapped, like who's going to wrap a flexible flier sled? God i wish my mom hadn't sold mine in a yard sale, I know some kids that would love it just like i did. We actually wrap presents because we want to share in the excitement of the recipient of the gift.

We wrap them so we can keep the gift as a surprise till Christmas. At least that's what I think.

They always look more promising when they're wrapped so pretty. Then you open them and see that it's just a sweater.
