Sweetheart! Congratulations Your A Woman! Welcome to Womanhood darling! Oh yes, your just fine.
Now don't you think about having sex, because you WILL get pregnant, and you WILL get a disease.
But Sweetie your just fine....your body is doing alot of working...to go from a child to a woman dear. Don't worry they will probably get heavier as time goes on by...
Here is a trick to get you ahead of the game..... keep your personal items in your purse for back up, even if it isn't time. A girl will always be in need and it feels good to help your girls out when they need you....
Now listen to me girl.... If you are using pads, get the ones with wings, they protect your panties, and trust me you always want that. Wear darker colored panties and pants during this time of month......
If you are going to use tampons.......Only one to use.........do not ever go for the cheap crappy nasty tampons, because they hurt when you insert them........buy Pearls..I have used them for years,,,,,and when a girlfriend is in need and I give her a Pearl, they always look at me like they are so happy I have the best........And I know this...........they didn't have this quality when I was your age.........but baby......they do now.
Hope this helps you.......Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Count yourself fortunate if it is light and is over quickly!
Your symptoms sound within normal limits. Something midol can handle. It's hard to resist giving a few helpful bits of info:
Not everyone is the same, but it will be a good idea to mark on a calendar the days you have your period so you can get an idea of how many days apart it will be once you get regular and notice if it is irregular, as well as to help you plan any social events that might be affected.
Be on the lookout, you might feel a little down in the dumps and cranky a few days before it starts due to hormone and blood sugar changes. Keep your calendar so you can realize what it is when/if that happens. Just ride it out.
Contrary to what you might hear, drinking plenty of water during this time will HELP you flush out the salts that retain water in your body, and will cut down on feeling bloated and achy( if that happens) as well as keep you hydrated from losing fluids . You will get the hang of what your body acts like. Just keep a record and you will be glad you did. Wish you all the best!

Yes it is normal because my period last 3 to 4 days and they are not heavy at all. The first day it's real light the 2 day it is medium and the last days are light. I'm 26 and that's how it's been for me since I started my menstrual. I also have mild cramping.

If it's your first period, it's going to take a little while for your body to become accustomed to a regular cycle. Over the first year of your period, it could be very light, very heavy, or a regular flow, and may last anywhere from 3-7 days. Every woman is different, so every cycle is different. You may just be one of the lucky ones!

everyone is different, some may have it up to 7 days, some not that long. So I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. The leg pain I'm not sure about, but cramps are definatley normal. If it is always around 3 days then that may be just the amount of time you will have yours for, but if you are still concerned Id ask your doc. to make sure

Yes, it's normal, especially if you're just starting to get your periods. They can last anywhere from 2 days to a week for some. All girls and woman are different. You should start taking a multivitamin if you haven't been already. You will need more iron now, since you have your period.

it varies from person to person. the average length is is 5-7 days. some girls/women have 3-4 days.
personally, mine last between 3 and 5 days....
if you are truly worried, talk to your mom or your doctor
ok, so you're 12 1/2 and no boyfriend....birth control is used for more than just birth control. it is also used to help regulate one's ".", stop from heavy flows, lessen the "."
