when I get done with reading the terms and conditions, I click accept, and "failed to read information from the internet please close all applications and try again" pops up in front of the download box

Make sure that you are connected to the Internet when you start the game. Also, make sure that you don't have any spyware or viruses...they can cause connection problems.
