It seems to me to be a very dubious practice at times.

Absolutely! I have won several computers, a trip to Hawaii, a trip anywhere in the world, $10,000 in cash, 50-inch HDTV, and more. Check Gimme Sweeps! for online sweepstakes and contests to enter. (it's my site) Having said that, I do advise my readers to enter with a free or disposable address. Some sites want you to sign up for emails (you can unsubscribe later), but as long as you stick with reputable sites, you won't have a scamming problem.

I have been playing instant wins and doing on line sweepstakes for about a year and I have won many things!

I think the biggest win was $500 cash in a instant win! I didn't believe it until the check came and it cleared!!!
The latest thing I won was 5th place in a HomeDepo sweeps, I won a really nice tool belt.
Actually that wasn't the last thing I won, that is the last thing that I received.

I have won things from Cash to DVD's.
It's not a scam and you do won--take it from a non-believer!
