my car seems to run better on Sunoco for some reason.

Sunoco is one of the only oil companies in the US that do NOT use Middle East crude oil. All of their crude comes from either US, Europe or South America. They operate their OWN refineries and their OWN pipeline system. So many people will tell you gas is gas, but that is simply untrue. I swear by Sunoco. Amoco is also good gas(still available at BP stations).

The best gas is the octane rating recommended by the factory.

On History Channel Modern Marvels (show), they reported that all gas companies put their gas in the SAME PIPELINE (usually in the Texas Gulf) and then they take out the same amount (locally). In another words, the are all the same gas.

Just before they pump it back into the station tank, they make additives to up the octane or add detergents. BUT those additives are almost all identical.

But if you really feel Sunoco is better, then there no reason to go somewhere else (other than price).

Good Luck

the higher the octane rating for high comression engines and name brands like shell or exxon have additives to keep your fuel system clean, normally newer cars run on regular gas just fine but the additives are good for the fuel system.
