Not only did I get one, they threw it at me and
hit me in the head. I think that's what my
problem is today. I also got a switch and it
was also used.

No, my mother is too nice to give me a lump of coal. She has always spoiled us for Christmas so I'm lucky to have her as a mother.

No. But in recent years, I was in a little shop on 9th Ave here in NYC and I found some candy in a little gunny sack type bag. The candy looked like coal lumps, and I thought it was cute. I had two bosses, one of whom gave little gifts and one who wrote the bonus check. Both of them were Jewish, so Christmas gifts wasn't anybody's thing there. But to the one boss who gave little gifts, I gave some little gifts. And to the other boss who had this self-deprecating sense of humor, I gave the little bag of candy that looked like lumps of coal. I thought it was funny and that he would enjoy it and get some mileage out of it.
Big mistake. Big mistake. And my subsequent Christmasses, believe me, have been lumps of coal.
