Professionalism without a doubt. I want someone who does their job and does it well. Personality would always be a nice bonus, but I could care less if they have the personality of a brick yet steer our country in a better direction.

Neither.
What is important in a candidate is the ability to lead, to have the public interest uppermost in his agenda, to listen to the people. It is important that he/she have the experience necessary to hold the office and have a proven record of the ability to make good decisions.
I don't care if he has the personality of a viper or the professionalism of Donald Duck. I just want a competent leader.

What he does is much more important than what he says.
I always look at the voting record of who I'm going to vote for. Boring can be helped with a little speech writing, but a guy who can talk a good game but is a liar they worry me. Too many people pick the slickest person.

Look at the Great Communicator Ronald Reagan. He had a clownish sense of humor but carried himself with dignity, pride and professionalism. You can have a mix of both and still get the job done. Reagan proved that.

If it's a choice between one or the other, I think I'd take the competent one, but I think a President should have a sense of humor-without one, they're gonna be overwhelmed by all the Presidential responsibilites and pretty soon we've got some psycho running the country.

After the last 7 years, I'm going with competent. We've already seen what we get with a personable clown....

professionalism over personality as that is better for the country good, although the latter is nice to have too.
why you want an incompetent crown to mess things up our economy, education, military and relations with foreign governments?

Personality is so completely irrelevant that its ridiculous. But, you know, here in the USA we as a group seem to prefer personality to other criteria. I mean, anything else would require someone to think! OMG!
