my mom doesn't like ac/dc or metallica because sh say's the're satanic. she says that about most of my bands, and she's probably right, but i just can't accept the fact that these bands would go home at the end of their day and undergo horrifying satanic rituals.

I'm sorry but I'm frankly laughing . The only known Satanism in classic rock is Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin (he wrote the music for a Satanic movie and there's quite a few other instances), and mabey Ozzy with that song Mr. Crowley (but I'm sure ozzy is not a Satanist). If by "Satanic" she means sinful every AC/DC song is about sex (except for a couple about drugs and two more about rock and roll). The lyrics from Metallica aren't meant to be meaningful rather they are just meant to be catchy (and they deliver on this). Metallica is in no way Satanic, it's just catchy. In modern day they have entire genres dedicated to Satanism (Black metal most namely), but even then not a single band is serious about any of this. Satanism is not Satan worship rather it's self worship (which is even worse in my book). None of your favorite bands (probaly Megadeth, Metallica, AC/DC, Van Halen etc etc) are Satanic that's just crazy. I don't even know what would make your mom think that.

This is one of the things that pisses me off more than anything; the whole "All rock musicians are Satanist" bullshit. I get it worse because I listen to metal, and even most metal musicians aren't satanic. Neither of the bands you mentioned are satanic either. Even bands with songs that have anti-christian lyrics in them, Slayer for example, aren't satanist, they're there for two reasons; 1. They believe any kind of organized religion, including satanism, is stupid, and 2. To disturb people like your mom. So I say go buy a Metallica album and blast it in her face.

The pentagram has nothing to do with Satan, and I find the CoS amusing at the very least. I believe it's a wiccan symbol, but it's commonly used among metalheads and bands as a sign of anti-Christianity. Being anti-Christian doesn't make you satanic. Also, just throwing it out there, the mass majority of black metal bands are not satanic. They generally write about norse mythology, other forms of paganism, and grim nature (winter, dark forests, **** like that).

It amazes me that some people still believe that all heavy metal music is satanic. Most bands use satanic imagery in their album artwork and have references to satanism in their lyrics but this is usually for shock value more than anything. There are some bands who claim to be satanists but AC/DC and Metallica are not among them.

There is no *real* Satanic Rock or Metal bands out there.
As others have said, a lot of bands just like to use the imagery.

It seems that your mother's views are rather naively out-of-date and mis-informed.

ac/dc and metallica are not satanic rock band. u might have the impression that they are satanic from reading thier lyrics, but , in fact, they are not. Dimmu Borgir, cradle of filth, dio and so many, known or unknown, bands are satanic . they always have the labels of the satanism in they forms . u can see the five-sidic pontagone on they forms. so, explain to y're mom this, and i hope u can convince her. this is my hotmail adress : lolo_boy@hotmail.fr

Black Sabbath was the exact opposite...download the lyrics and really read them with an open mind....they're actually speaking about the evil in mankind...they don't advocate evil, they mock and expose it.

Metallica...Master of Puppets is a song about cocaine and other vices that take hold of a person and control them...they are not advocating drug use, they are exposing it's misery.

actually metallica song "master of puppets" song about drug addiction. its about what or who person can become if he/she becomes a drug addict. there is no way Metallica song "master of puppets" advocates or supports addiction: its exact opposite.
