I've been deployed overseas for 15 months. My wife and I got a house in another state and I came back to my duty station afterwards to start my out process from the military. I haven't seen her in 15 months and I want to do something really special for her when I get home on the 2nd of Janurary. I was thinking of buying her a a bath robe, putting it next to the door so when she comes home a trail of rose petals lead to a card in the room with some message and a nice bath prepared for her. Maybe some small sort of dinner afterwards and a night infront of the fire place doing marriage stuff. How would this be if your hubby did it ladies? And dudes got any other ideas that might help? Something you might have done.

Yeah, you got it down, dude. A special night like that is probably just the ticket.

Also, as someone who has been deployed, remember in the days that follow to watch your mouth, watch your temper, and remember that she may have changed and become more independent while you were gone. It's not a bad thing. She'll be a little different, just accept it and love her and everything will be fine. I wish you both the best. Happy holidays and thanks for serving.

I think you pretty much got enough. she might just pass the stuff to find you anyways. It has been a long time :-)

My general thought is that simpler is better. Your idea is probably better though.
