Drive thru some residential areas and you will see few of the best Christmas lightings. I recommend the one of Los Padres Blvd, in Santa Clara. This place right opposite Henry Schmidth Park on Saratoga-Los Padres intersection. It is a nice place to see. They have been getting best house awards since 1995 i suppose...

Mt Hamilton is a nice drive. It overlooks San Jose and the bay. Santa Cruz mountains have some nice drives -if you go slow.
