further definition of the term "Internet" is required.
if it is merely the sum of its parts it will be subject to the finite
but the ability to make distinctions about the term is infinite.
as non-sentient(at least as far as I can tell based on my ideas) I do not think it would be fair to assign a quality to the Internet that is(bad or good) for it is a tool and can be used to serve both ends.

I think it's generally good, but for me, who as you may have noticed am addicted to information, it is a bit like an alcoholic living in a pub. There was a time when to get my info "fix", i had to do something like enroll on a course, go to a library or buy a book, which was inconvenient but in some ways better because it meant it was easier to resist the temptation to learn in an academic sort of way. I am also easily distracted, so i end up veering off on some tangent, and i don't pay attention for as long.

It also links together people across the world, which is a good thing because it helps to overcome prejudice, but it also gives people the illusion of intimacy when actually they wouldn't share such things as they do with people they really don't know and may not be able to trust. Consequently, it can give people a new way of being unfaithful to their partners, as with websites which bring together old school friends.

I home educate my children. This is a whole lot easier now the internet is easily available, and it actually makes me wonder what the point of schools is.

One good thing it does is that there is now so much information widely available that reflection on what you can and can't get through the internet gives you a clue about the nature of wisdom, which you can only get through real life, as opposed to knowledge, which is available through the internet. It's interesting to contemplate what it can't give you and why, and whether this is valuable. It often is.

the baby's still growing SophiaSeeker!

Let's not jump the gun with such question.

and when the extelligence has fully devolved the answer will be a little clearer.

There is a lot of stuff out there and even with time I doubt that the cable and satellite companies will make that much impact.

so ok lets say in fact finite, but not limited in growth potential!

It is like any other thing created by man: there is good and evil in it at the same time. Yin-Yang. Even though there are more pages out there than you could ever view in a lifetime, the Internet is finite. Large, huge, seemingly endless, but finite.

Whether anything is good or bad depends on how you use it.
A knife is used in the kitchen for cutting vegetables for cooking and can even be used for murder. A gun can be used for defence or offence. Terrorists make the negative use of anything that they get.

Internet has an infinite number of useful applications like e-mail, banking, making payments, communication, and teaching as we do in Yahoo Answers. Hacking, pornography, phishing are some of its negative uses or demerits.
