Brian, I'm sitting here listening to several employees telling me differently. In fact, 31 states have sued Walmart for unfair labor practices. And they hired illegal immigrants to clean after hours.

Monthly non-hourly workers routinely work off the clock. Hourly workers should not be working off the clock, and WalMart and others have all been sued. If you know differently, you should contact your state dept of labor, wages and standards division.

No and they do not do it. If you get caught working off the clocks it is considered grounds for immediate termination

Any other Wal-mart myths you want me to bust? '

The illegal immigration issue is a pandemic, so Wal-mart is not th only culprit of having illegals on the payroll. Furthermore, the instance you are referring to was a contracted custodial firm.

It is against Wal-mart's coporate policy for an associate to work off the clock, for insurance purposes. So, if an assistant manger has ever requested an associate to do so, they did so against company policy. That manager can be reported.

What else???

quit being sue happy, its against walmart policy to work off the clock for more reasons than just insurance purposes. if someone asks you to work off the clock, tell them no and then use the open door policy to go above them to let management know about the situation.
