Edwards most publicized case was taking a 30% - 40% commission for a mega-jury award, involving a tragedy of a child- birth, as a result many, many women today, are forced to give birth by Cesarian method, since the medical community is over-whelmed by potential law suits, exccessive insurance cost for negligence and a feverish litigous environement.
Trial lawyers like Edwards, perpetuate the litigous environment
we live in and ensure that tort reform will never be addressed.
How can you complain about health care costs and support cretins and parasites like Edwards, believing only corporations are the fault of very issue?
Electing John Edwards as our President is as irresponisble as allowing the king of pop to babysit your young boy.
Is the partnership between socialists and trial lawyers simply not understood by liberals OR will our liberals admit they really don't care about health care costs if it means trial lawyers need to be restrained?

Right, it's because of lawyers like him that not only insurance has gone up but frivolous lawsuits have become rampant.
Voting for someone like him is a grave error. Hell, all the dem candidates would be a grave error. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against all democrats, just democrats that are destroying this Country.
Where are the Zel Millers????

Nearly all politicians are lawyers, including Bush as far as I know.
Trial lawyers are just lawyers like any others, and they protect the rights of citizens against unfair treatment by the government, police and corporations.
God forbid that politicians, who make laws, should actually know anything about the law!
During the last presidential debates, it was stated without any disagreement from Bush or Cheney, that lawsuits only account for 5% of the budget of the average large insurance company - that means it's true!
(I think John Edwards would make a perfectly good President.)

Yes. Do you understand that tort lawyers provide an invaluable service to people who have grievously suffered do the negligence of huge corporations, protect people from fraud and unscrupulous activities and otherwise stand up for the rights of individuals in this country? Apparently you would prefer that you had no recourse should you be victimized.
I understand that "tort reform" is really a code word for taking away individual rights and putting even more power in the hands of big corporations.

He also was the lawyer who helped a disabled man receive his claim and a little girl get money from a pool company who had faulty drain systems that resulted in a horriffic accident for the child. 30-40% commission is not too much to ask in cases where the lawyer has to devote large amounts of time, energy, and his onw money to the fight.
Regardless, I HOPE that you never suffer from any company's negligence and need the services of a great lawyer.

No you are totally wrong. His biggest case had nothing to do with child birth. A small child got caught in the suction of a drain of a swimming pool. It sucked out her intestines and she died. Edwards went after the big corporation that made the drain and the pump. The family was poor so he did it for free.
His practice is based on going after mega companies and corporations that hurt poor people. He comes from a poor family himself and earned every dime he has. No one gave it to him. He didn't inherit it like some rich Repubs like Bush.
You can look it all up. Be fair.

And what was Bush before governor of Texas? A failed businessman, a drug user, and pretty much ruined anything he touched. Who cares that he was a trial lawyer? At least he didn't start an unjust war that has killed hundreds of thousands of people. And to blame him for the 'litigious environment' is madness. Corporations ARE the fault of many issues. Duh. The rape the earth for profit, they insist that reasonable environmental policies are 'too expensive' and the current administration is in bed with them. Heck, they invited the biggest energy companies in the country to the table to help decide our energy policies. Hmmmm? Think that they gave honest input or input that would increase their profits? Enron was there. Right before their employees were caught on tape talking about the 'little old lady' in California whose lights go out. Corporations ARE responsible for many problems because they are only concerned with profits and not people. Wake up, dude.

Edwards, Rodham Clinton, Bill Clinton was too, and all of them are capable of doing such a thing if they have a law degree. Big deal. If you were in an accident and someone dismembered your body, and Edwards could solve your problems, you would hire him too, rather than Rodham who would take you for a ride and stiff you for the insurance company.

Takes brain power to even get into law school, let alone be a successful attorney for those getting maimed and killed by exploitative corporations who can hire a whole platon of attorneys to screw and draw out lawsuits, hoping for the plaintiff to drop dead.
. BTW, George Bush was too stupid to get into even a scrubby law school.
