I have no idea, it will all depend on how Fukudome plays, but they just can't believe that he is thier savior, they all have to pitch in, if they want to win games. Not just one player, no matter where he is from. But either way, I don't expect the Chicago Cubs to make it to the playoffs. But it is going to take all of them, to win games, if they play good enough to win, they will win, but if they lose some may times, they will not make it to the playoffs. But it is going to take more then one player to make things right, if they don't want to make thier drough reach as many dalmatians there are in One Hundered and One Dalmatians (101). But they will have to play well, and that also includes the playoffs, which is something they didn't do this year, is that really no life, all their batters that have proven to have been really good during the season, somehow gotten cold during the playoffs in the first round of the 2007 playoffs.

The Cubs will win the Central and play in the league championship. Don't know if they will win this time. The Astros solved their offensive problems with one guy? After Oswalt, who's going to pitch? Valverde won't have many save opportunities. Speaking of pitching, Milwaukee has Sheets and...Suppan? Bush? Gagne?? Have any of you actually looked at the competition in the NL, or you bashing the Cubs... because they're the Cubs? AL team probably going to win the series.

Fukodome should make them better. As far as the playoffs, the Cubs have the best team in the Central, but on paper. Only time will tell.

If the Cubs falter again in 2008 it won't be because of Fukudome. From everything available about him he is a solid Hideki Matsui type player. He can't do it alone but he will make the Cubs a better team.

problem with your question...you are implying that they will make the playoffs...

Astros have made some big moves to solve offensive problems with Tejada.

Reds have made some big moves and could hold their own if they can get one more legitimate starter.

And the Brewers who were all rookies last year have a little bit more experience.

Cubs have shown that they still don't play at championship form even with Lou, I see the Cubs done in September
