Because both are actually evil. Santa is just another incarnation of Satan. Santa (Satan) arouses worldly temptations (covetousness, which is one of the seven deadly sins) by bringing toys and gifts to children. These children actually grow up to be greedy people who always want more and more.

Because christmas is a pagan holiday. There was no santa clause in the bible so man made up a holiday and sold the idea? There is only one day that we should celebrate and that is the death of christ, and not the birth of him. When he was born he had not accomplished anything so what would you remember about him to celebrate, but at his death you can think back of all his accomplishments.

its in evil trick by satan to make children think santa is the meaning of christmas and not Jesus(said with a spanish accent) and over the years he is succeeding because you never see kids lining up to take pictures with Jesus at the Mall... but the line for Satan oh i mean Santa is all the way to the food court... kudos Satan for it seems your plan is working but i am not fooled .....but he was to stupid to think of another name and he may of been stoned .....
