it ends just a little tiny bit above my knees and it's a babydoll top with 1/2 sleeves. it's for christmas eve dinner with grandparents.

No, its not too short...just slightly above the knee should be appropriate for an x-mas eve dinner. If you want to make it look just a little nicer, add a shawl and a pretty necklace...and make sure to wear nice shoes since it is your grandparents...they dont need to be seeing their grandchild in 4 inch stilletos.

No it isn't really short. Really short is mid thigh. Wear some really cute tights or leggings under the dress. This would look adorable worn under a babydoll top.

It's a little short for being with your grandparents. Remember, they grew up when long dresses were in style! LOL! Maybe wear leggings or tights under it. I hope I helped and good luck!

The rule for "professional dress" is no shorter than 3 inches above the knee. I think, therefore, this would apply to your situation as well.

Hmm It doesn't sound to bad, but since its with your grandparents, it couldn't hurt to add stockings, leggings, or high socks, because that is a good bit of leg showing. I could give you more advice if you had a pic of it or found it online though.

put your hands to your sides. is the hem line below your finger tips?
or just a little above?
then yeah, it's fine
also, if your still worried, you could wear some leggings or something under it.
but grandparents don't care about that kind of thing usually, they usually just go with it.

Haha, anything below knees is prudish for me, so a tiny bit above is my maximum length. And I'm the farthest thing from a... you know what. I think it sounds perfect! :D

as long as it's not halfway up your thighs your grandparents shouldn't freak out... but if they do, bring a sweater to put on your lap when you're sitting... it'll help with the modesty! Dresses always go up when you sit!!
