Are there any services that I can use to download DRM-free music that have you pay per song, and don't require a monthly subscription?

Thanks in advance.

You don't need to get them DRM free. You can easily make them DRM free. Here's what you do:
1. Create a playlist with all the songs you want to remove the DRM from.
2. Burn them to a CD.
3. Change the originals on your computer to names like SONG TITLE- my tunes
4. Reimport the songs from the newly burned disk. They should now be DRM free.

some itunes songs come in drm-free format. Those are called itunes plus songs. Those that come as protected files (regular itunes songs) can easily be changed by burning to CD. It's sort of a loophole that apple kept open.

Use iTunes to buy what ever music you want. Use myFairTunes to remove the DRM from the files.

Limewire - I completely disagree with Shaun. He could are transforming into an epidemic from some thing he downloaded yet I truthfully have used Limewire for 4 years and have under no circumstances had it crash my pc. My AV has discovered viruses in archives yet you get that on any record sharing community. it rather is the wankers who upload stuff with viruses no longer this methodology it is to blame. you won't be able to blame your interior of sight council for dashing vehicles are you able to?
