Contrary to popular belief... acting is hard work and it takes a LOT of training to land an audition or have your own show. You may want to be famous, but do you have the talent and attitude it takes to stick with acting when you don't get what you want right away. The people you see on TV did not get there over night... and neither will you. Ask yourself... Are you willing to roll up your sleeves and do some hard work preparing yourself and get the training you need to succeed?

Well you have to be in LA, have a full time parent with transportation. It helps to have an agent. You need headshot and resume. You need to have $2,500 handy to buy your union card if you get a job (they will not buy it for you as a general rule because they have to pay fines for hiring you over the 2,000 unemployed kid actors already in SAG).
Until your 18 a parent has to be there fulltime. 2 hours work 2 hours school, dinner break, 2 hours work, two hours school.
Once you turn 18 they work you 10-12 hours a day with two or three dinner breaks.
They generally sign you to 5-7 year contracts and you can't work for anyone else during that time frame.
Show go black generally from Thanksgiving to new Years and after April until August and you can get unemployment during that period.
The rest of the time you work 5 days a week until you are 18, after 18 you may have to work saturdays on some sets.
After 18 the work day is typically 6 am to 6pm or even 8 pm, sometimes til 9 pm back at 6 am the next day.
Of course the pay is typically $5,000 - $10,000 a week.
Until you are 18 25-50% of that has to go into a trust account.
Do understand 90% of the union is unemployed most of the year and 85% makes less than $10,000 per year.
As for becoming famous, you take $3,000 of the $10,000 a week you make and give it to a professional PR person to keep you in the news.
It generally takes 2-3 years of that to get you to the point where the press won't let you BBQ in your backyard without snapping pictures of you frm the hill with long lenses.
Once you reach that point you get the Britney syndrome where the press takes pictures of you buying donuts, laying on the sand on vaction and making a sour face
They love to put pictures like that on covers.
You will never have a private life.
Your maids will write books
Your boyfriends will write books
Your lovers and husbands will take half your income away in palamony and divorce settlements.
Britney was the best thing to ever happen to FedEx, he went from making $500 -- $2,000 a week parttime as a dancer to getting about $30 million off of her.
And Brit doesn't have $30 million, so she has to float a bank loan to pay him off because her money comes in in dribs and drabs.
She gets $100,000 here and $200,000 there and made nothing off her last flop of a record.
Her divorce is like her house, mortaged from the bank.

If you want to be a child actress, your parents will have to work long and hard for it to happen, getting you experience, training and an agent. Why your parents? Because the labor laws require parental consent for anything you do. Being a "pretty good" singer is not going to be good enough. The only people who can really help you are your parents.

Okay, well try finding an agent, then go from there.
But just so you know, actually becoming famous is really hard and takes A LOT of luck. Only go for it if you're really, really serious about having a tv carreer, no matter how long it takes to be famous.

its not as easy as it seems.
u cant just audition. its not likely that you'll become famous. im sorry but its the truth.
it is a VERY COMPETITIVE biz to get into.
but you can start off by building a resume. try out for lead roles in school playes, try out for local theatres, take classes, and then get an agent. you will face ALOT of rejection. If you really want this, it will require alot of hard work, time, commitment, LUCK , and of course, Talent. Gluck. talk to your parents

Wow..Okay you can't just BECOME famous...
So start going to auditions for school plays and theatre. And get some stuff for your resume. Talk to your parents about this because if they both work then it's basically inpossible to have a commitment with them. And it takes alot of money and commitment even to just get an Agent.

sometimes at the mall or at a store (coffee shop, clothing store, etc.) some people from a movie studio walk around and ask children if they would like to audition for movies and different things. i got picked and now i take acting lessons. but the only thing that's not a benefit is that you have to pay about 2000 dollars for three months and that allows you to take lessons three times a week.

You have to take lots of acting classes, and get an agent. Thats the absolute only way. You DEFINETLY CANNOT just show up for an audition. Sorry, doesnt work that way.

you're not gonna get anywhere if you're only aiming at "being famous", if you love the art then good things will happen.
but hey if you do, then try and get in an agency, the internet is very useful
