Mistletoe's real, but actually, strangely enough, I've never seen any...I think the whole kissing under the mistletoe thing is probably a myth though.

I live a little too far north to find mistletoe in the trees. A little further south from here it grows very well in the oak trees. You can get big bunches of it, if you're willing to climb very high.
Addition for person above: It is not a fungus. It is a vascular plant, but it is mildly parasitical to the tree it is growing on.

I haven't seen any hanging up this year. Darn it! But, I saw some real mistletoe at the flower shop for sale.

I have seen lots growing this year and they had it in our local market. I haven't bought any this year as it is poisonous and we have a toddler grandchild who would eat anything he found so if the berries dropped off.......
People often don't recognise it in the trees, they assume they are crows nests. There was a lot the other day when I went to Monmouth and then up to Worcester.

Only seen it in the Green Grocers at the top of my road. Oh and a few tatty plastic bits in the pound shop.

I haven't seen any this year real or fake. If anyone hangs the real thing be mindful of children and pets. The berry's are very toxic

I bought a bunch of it a few days ago, the real stuff, not plastic..........but apart from seeing the stuff the guy was selling, I've not seen any at all..............
I'm not up for kissing anyway - I have a rotten cold and I don't want to be spreading germs!!!!!!!
