I would not object to race or gender. It would be nice to be able to vote in somebody honest and true. But that don't seem to be possible. The honest ones who do make it to Washington, it seems like they have to become dishonest to survive. Everyone who finds fault with whoever is in office, if they could be in their position, they would no doubt become just like them. It is a scary thing for anyone who holds the high office of being president of the United States. I sure don't envy them. No matter what you do, the majority of the people will not be happy. Our country's motto "In God we trust" is a big false statement. The man who promises economic gain and seems to be able to convince the people no matter how crooked he is, will be the one who will win. So who is the worse of the two? The president or the people? It was not my intention to get on a platform and preach. I am just concerned about the children and the grandchildren, of our society. Too bad the people of this wonderful country of ours, could not fall down on their faces, and get back to God. May God still have mercy on us.

Nope. I think it'd be a good thing to have a black or female president. But of course their views matter most. I'd vote for Obama but never for someone like Alan Keyes.

IT IS THE PERSON; race and gender can not be held against a person .None of us can choose what race or gender we would like to be. That is chosen by the Parents
we were born too. It is the male or female in that skin that tells us who the person is. But I would vote for a man, before I would a women simply for hormonal reasons only, It called PMS. A great Big Merry Christmas to all !!!!!!

I don't think that this is the time for a female president. I largely say this looking at Islamic fundamentalist terrorists. They have absolutley no regard for women and I think they would challenge a female president with terrorist plots against this country. So even if Condi was running - no.
As far as voting for a man of color it depends who was running. I think that the greatest African American who could run for president at this time, and would get my vote, would be Colin Powell. I wouldn't think twice. A true American with a great military background, foreign policy experience and the intelligence to tell Bush where he can stick his Secretary of State position.
But since Powell isn't running I agree with Rick K - vote Rudy!

if condoleezza rice ran, i would be working for her campaign. and voting for her... and shes black and a woman... but hell no i wont vote for Obama or Mrs. Clinton.
i really would like to see a great female president, i think it could do a lot to help change peoples opinions... but if Mrs. Clinton is the first one, it SEVERELY damages any woman's chance for another 24 years... at least.

I would vote for Colin Powell in a second. If the person is qualified, I don't care who he or she is.

No problem at all. Any one or any thing would be better than that white heterosexual (we think), Anglo Saxon, Protestant, male that's in the White House currently.
