The potential 2008 lineup, showing last years collective averages of .309, will look something like this. 1) Granderson .302, 2) Polanco .341, 3) Cabrera .320, 4) Sheffield .265, 5) Ordonez .363, 6) Guillen .296, 7) Renteria .332, 8) Rodriguez .281, 9) Jones .285. I know the 1927 Yankees hit .307 as a team and the new 2008 Tigers have the potential to be all of that. What do you think?

By the way, the collective lifetime averages, as a fantasy team, for these guys is at .297. I'm thinking they should hit all of that and more in 08 with no one to pitch around.

The last team to hit over .300 was the 1950 Red Sox, who led the league with a .302 average:

First of all, most of the players like Ordonez and Polanco aren't gonna reach what they did last year. No one stays consistant throughout a career. Ordonez, Polanco, Renteria, and Jones will all go down. Gullen will hit around .310 though. Granderson around .290-.310. Cabrera I think can hit anywhere from .300 to .350 this year. But I honsetly dont think the Tigers can hit .300 this year. Maybe .295.

The Tigers did pretty good last year finishing with a team batting average of .287. But for 2008 I expect close to the same, even with the addition of Cabrera. Polanco and Ordonez are most likely not going to continue their high batting averages, so I expect everything to even out.
