Both players are very formidable, but Howard has a much higher ceiling. For intance, Howard knocked in 149 RBI in his first full year and tallied 136 RBI in 2007, whereas Konerko's career high for RBI is 117. Howard hit 58 homers in 2006, and then 47 homers in 2007. Konerko's career high for homers is 41. Howard also has a higher career AVG than Konerko. Konerko is a very good fielder and he has Howard beat in that aspect of the game, but if you look at the numbers - Howard holds his own. Last year he commited 12 errors in 140 games. Thats not bad at all. You can expect great things from both players, but I would go with Howard.

Ryan Howard duhh. Why: he has a thing called talent and is like 10 years younger. people are saying Konerko is a better fielder but honestly I haven't seen much of Howards but if Konerko is better maybe Howard should buy some shades and a cane cause Konerko isn't all that great either

Paul Konerko, he is a good leader who led the White Sox to a World Series, and is probably a better all around player, but Ryan Howard hits a tad bit better than Konerko, but Konerko fields and does everything i would need in a close game.

It depends if i am in a clutch situation if i was i would pick konerko because he is way more experienced than Howard but then again Howard is one of the best players in the game today

Howard will prove to be a much more consistent producer than Konerko when both careers are over. Konerko has had both up and down years and you never know which one is going to show up. Edge to Howard.

Well it depends. On an NL team or an NL team? They both have power, but Howard has much more. As for defense, Konerko if it were an NL team because Howard cannot play defense to save his life. If it were an AL team, Howard would be DH. Or, I could put both on the same team; Konerko at first and Howard as DH

Howard is much younger than Konerko

but I do think Konerko is a better ballplayer than him

Konerko is way better at defense

But
you have to go with Howard because of his age

Howard. He is younger and on the way up and Konerko seems to be on the way down. Plus Howard seems to be more clutch.

Ryan Howard... because he's much much younger.

His defence is a bit worrisome, but who cares... he can slug the ball out the park like it's the easiest thing to do. Konerko's defence isnt spectacular or anything either.

thats easy, ryan howard, konerko is old and he never had a season like howard has had, plus i think howard is only going to get better, konerko is only going to get worse
