IF they fought (and not all found it necessary) they fought other tribes... usually over land. Some tribes were mobile like nomads... some stayed in the same area over centuries...
White men fought Native Americans... primarily over land as well... The white men were greedy and wanted it all. Initially, many Native Americans were willing to share, until it was clear they were being taken advantage of. Now.... look what has happened... It's shameful.

Each other. Amongst certain tribes there was rape, torture, murder, and sacrifice of other tribes, and conquering of each others land. This cannot totally be said for all tribes. It's like this in every continent though. Various tribes all over the world were either conquerers, or they may have been peaceful people who were victims of being conquered by another tribe. It's happened all over the world, all throughout history, even with Native Americans before the Europeans came.
