I was always told that Intel processors are good for multi-tasking with programs being opened and closed constantly. Alternately, Athlon's are good for efficient gaming. All depends on what you are mainly using your computer for. Hope this helps. Best wishes.

Then, the common sense answer is: It depends whether you are a High End Gamer or do Video Authoring. If so, buy the fastest System you can afford.
If not, all the CPUs named here are gross overkill for Email and web surfing.

no I have the 4400 cpu nice fast a year ago.
I have a c2d and they is no comparision. the intel blows the doors off the amd.
I went from 12 fps in crysis to 25 just with the cpu change.
max settings same video card.
