Is this the reason why America wont vote for him to be president, because he is black?

No. He was my state senator and U S Senator when I was living in Chicago. I did not like his performance then, I do not like his ideas either. Race has nothing to do with it.

That would be the REAL reason, but people will not outright state that because it's discrimination and people generally don't wish to look bad before their peers. What do you do then? You make up other reasons that are outright lies not to vote for him like:

1. He's inexperienced. So is every other candidate running for President because they haven't been President before. If it's leadership inexperience, well he is on the Senate and has run through the political system long enough to know how it runs, just like every other candidate.
2. He's a muslim. Which is an outright lie, he's a Baptist. Luthren I believe. He was not raised in the muslim religion and just because he has a relative that may be muslim and he's partially named after him doesn't make Obama a muslim. His actions speak loads above what others say (does anyone really watch his actions?).

You sort of get the picture, but the bottom line of this reasoning is that he is black and that's the sad true story of it.

Hello? We havent had the election yet and his ratings are fairly high last I heard. There are a significant number of black Americans voting, and I hope they will vote for the candidate who represents their preferences. Obama might be a person of color, but his naysayers point out that he lacks experience. Anyway, after the last few years, who wouldnt be an improvement? Personally I think it is time for America to accept a woman or non-white president if they are suited for the job.

There are at least two black people in politics I'd vote for in a moment Colin Powell, or Condolessa Rice. I get no leadership vibe out of Obama, what experience leads him to the job. His communication skills are low.

Quit being such a racist. Most of us in this country have gotten past the race thing, apparently you got left behind. If he doesn't get elected it will be because people don't feel he's qualified. PERIOD! We don't have an obligation to elect a black man just to make history. You probably aren't old enough to remember when we actually had racism in this country, not just whiners like you looking for racism where it doesn't exist. The Grand Racist, Al Sharpton is probably one of your hero's.

There is some truth to this statement. There are many prejudiced voters - Democrats - who will not vote for Obama simply because he is black. Likewise, Hillary because she is a woman (a woman, with no military service, in charge of our military...). The only black politician of whom I was ever aware that had a chance for President was Colin Powell - and he didn't want it (I suspect he had too much integrity).

I dont think ethnicity is going to have anything to do with it. I think people will not vote for him because he is too liberal and the only liberal people in the country are on the east coast and the left coast. There are more GodFearing americans with conservative values than racists.

If he were the republican nominee and not a bleeding heart liberal, I would vote for him. It is about a persons BACKBONE and stance on the issues. Now if he would build a fence, keep the troops in iraq, lower taxes and institute a flat tax, I would vote for him.

Do you follow the polls?... Obama has not been doing so bad in the polls. Keep in mind that polls can be accurate but they never really state what is actually true. Obama might have a poor standing with many people...or he might not. I highly doubt anything has to do with his color (except to the small percentage of extremists). Maybe if you pulled your head out...then you'd be able to figure it out on your own.

I don’t think that the America is ready to elect a woman or a black person as President as of yet. There are still too many small minds out there that will base their decision on that.
I wouldn’t have a problem voting for either one if the candidates where anything worth voting for.

He will certainly carry Hawaii. However, a black person will never win in the Deep South or the Rust Belt or Mountain West or Alaska or the Central Valley of California or, need I go on..........

EDIT: jim jim jim jim jim ..." dont remember when we actually had racism in this country" haven't you heard of Jenna, LA or have you tried to buy an expensive house in an exclusive neighborhood in AZ. Or the man that was dragged to his death behind a pick up truck in TX or, need I go on.......

I'm REALLY tired of the race card questions.
Obama is intelligent, articulate, and extremely knowledgeable on the issues. So what is the problem?
I'd vote for him, but the Dems aren't strong enough on the immigration issue for me.
