I hate when people use yahoo answers to poke fun at what other people believe.
Well, they could just be looking for a reason to get and give presents to each other. No one celebrates anything majorly Christian related any more. Did you know Christmas was originally a Pagan festival, along with Halloween. So don't be like that.

Yes, I do. Makes me wonder what they're doing.
I assume they just celebrate the gift giving, lights, food. They just ignore the REAL reason we have Christmas. You can't really celebrate a holiday and ignore the reason behind it.

i'm an atheist and guilty of celebrating Christmas... i don't go all out though... i have a small, foot high shrub with a bow on it instead of a Christmas tree... and i give gifts to friends, but not in the name of Christ... i do it because all those people are giving me gifts and i feel its unfair not to give them something in return...

Yes. I guess they celebrate Santa just for the presents.

we're celebrating christmas: the day of giving gifts and having family togetherness.
not christmas: the day of celebrating the birth of christ.

There are two faces of Christmas.
The infant baby, who, born in a manger, lived just to die for your sins and a fat man in a red suit who wants you to buy the cool new toy. They are celebrating the fat man.
