I could not imagine being in their place. But i do agree with the comments; were this a working class family the other children would have been taken into care; If she is found after abduction then i hope the maccanns make all the money they can get, if this makes them happy.

John McCain will face Hilliary Clinton in the final run then we will know. I am voting for Hillary because she understands how corps have ruined healthcare, illegal immigration and the public school system. And she will wrap up the war quick. She has her priorities right and McCain is just the last of the old Cold Warriors. A patriotic fossil. Sorry, John but it is true.

No they'll not be forgotten for a very long time, whether or not Madeleine is found dead or alive.
I don't think they'll want to make cash out of it somehow.
The money they've made out for the fund is to find Madeleine, not to keep them in a life of luxury.
Why do you think they should? That's a very sick idea.

The general public is fickle and have the collective attention span of a sack of potatoes.

If (or rather when, note the fickle part) the media stop mentioning her, the public will forget about her.

Remember Ben Needham? Okay, he was never found, but still, the media got bored and so the memory vanished.

Yes they will be forgotten.

But if Madeline is found alive, which I hope she will be, they would be proved innocent.

And if this happens? Once the press feeding frenzy had died down they could go back to their lives.

As for money: Some kind of foundation to support other parents who had a child abducted. The public would donate to that.

Is it not perhaps a time for generosity of spirit? Until they find a body I will hope she is alive> We can only wish that Maddie is found so they can have a Happy Christmas. If not I can only wish them a Happy New Year.

no they will not be forgotten, they will be pushed to the back of the collective consciousness until another child is abducted in similar circumstances and once again they will be exposed to the media circus.
